Cocaine Addiction Treatment

We believe specific issues surrounding cocaine abuse and addiction must be addressed, due to the psychological compulsion and dependence associated with this substance.

However we also believe this program should be an integral part of the core process and not a segmented component. Therefore, issues specific to cocaine addiction are met on an individual basis and within the structure of the program offered at the Life Center.

Three primary areas we believe need to be addressed to assure patient re-entry into the community are:
  1. Education regarding cocaine, cocaine addiction, and its components.
  2. Recognition and management of cravings.
  3. Addressing the psychological issues of cocaine addiction and the emotions which individuals experience.
Cocaine issues are addressed daily as part of the core program, bibliotherapy, active recreational and adjunctive programs available all hours to provide physical options for drug cravings, experiential group utilized as a catharsis as part of regaining emotional balance and individualized treatment planning.

Involvement in cocaine specific outpatient groups and participation in NA, CA, or other self-help organizations are recommended to clients upon discharge. Aftercare recommendations also include halfway houses and alternate placements as needed.
