Day Support/Partial Services

Life Center offers a less intense, more flexible approach to chemical dependency and dual diagnosis treatment through our day support/partial services.

Admission to this level of care follows assessment and evaluation which illustrates the presence of one of the following:

Transition down from inpatient residential treatment to day treatment.
Failure of a lesser level of care, such as outpatient etc.
First time admission based on assessed need for structure and consistency not available through routine or intensive outpatient therapy.

Clients in this program are admitted to the Life Center, assigned a case manager, and assessed through routine protocol used with inpatient treatment.

Patients recommended for admission must demonstrate escalating responsibility for themselves and others, positive engagement in the treatment process, and the potential to develop and/or maintain sober support through family, self-help groups, etc.

Day support does provide for patients to leave the facility at the end of the treatment day and return the following morning. All day support clients are asked to sign a sobriety contract, guaranteeing to maintain abstinence, punctuality, and similar responsibilities.

Violation of the contract will prompt a re-evaluation of the patient's progress and recommendations for the most appropriate level of care.

Therapy includes the following activities each day; community group, didactic lecture and lecture process group, group therapy, leisure activities, step study, AA or NA meetings, and significant event group. Families are included in this treatment process with attendance to the Saturday and Sunday workshops encouraged as well. (Click here for more about family therapy.)

Discharge is determined by patient progress in meeting treatment goals, and confirmed by the treatment team. All patients participate in aftercare planning, which may include any or all of the following: outpatient counseling, attendance to self-help groups, entrance to halfway house, family counseling, EAP counseling and aftercare group placement.
