The Life Center of Galax is a private, freestanding center for the treatment of alcoholism, drug abuse and dual diagnoses, located in a small, secluded town in the lush rolling hills of Virginia. Treatment at The Life Center is based on the premise that alcoholism and drug addiction are treatable diseases with complex physical, behavioral, psychological, social and spiritual components which impair normal functioning.

We are committed to offering the most comprehensive, high-quality addiction and dual diagnosis services in the region. Our professional staff, which is comprised of master’s level therapists, certified addiction counselors, a psychiatrist, a medical director certified in addiction medicine, 24-hour nursing staff and other specialists, has extensive personal and professional experience with recovery.

Our professionals are focused on one thing: your recovery. To begin building the foundation for a better life, The Life Center's treatment team creates individualized treatment plans that focus on the whole person to promote personal growth in recovery. Because recovery is a lifelong process, familiarization with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are key elements of the program.

Today, The Life Center is fully licensed by the state of Virginia and is nationally accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
