Increased Precautions We're Taking in Response to the Coronavirus
As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Life Center of Galax to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • We are offering visitation through telehealth services so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

CDC updates are consistently monitored to ensure that all guidance followed is based on the latest information released.

  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance has been provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized.

DUI/DWI Rehab

Learn more about our DUI/DWI rehab program

At The Life Center of Galax, we understand that anyone can be charged with a  DUI/DWI when they make the decision to get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  It is our goal to provide treatment and education for those individuals dealing with a DUI/DWI offense that will increase self-awareness and help prevent future issues.

The Life Center of Galax offers seven to thirty-day DUI/DWI residential programs designed for those individuals with DUI/DWI related offenses. Our program includes the following:

  • Comprehensive medical and psychological assessments
  • Education on the disease of alcoholism and addiction
  • Group and individual counseling sessions
  • Introduction to 12-Step Recovery models of AA and NA

In addition, all patients who successfully finish the program are given a certificate of completion. With your permission, we also provide information to your counselor, attorney and the court system as appropriate and requested.

Admissions for Our DUI/DWI Program

Learn more about our DUI/DWI admissions criteria

We provide admission, both voluntary and court ordered, 24 hours a day for individuals 18 years and older.

The Division of Motor Vehicle requirements for maintaining or obtaining a driver’s license after conviction of a DUI/DWI offense may vary between states. Further assessment and treatment or classes would be needed in order to meet these DMV requirements. Your counselor would be able to assist you with a referral to a DUI/DWI assessor in your local area.

Galax's specialty programs allowed me to receive an individualized treatment plan that helped me get back on track.
